Deathly Hallows Stays Atop The Box Office
Part one of the epic conclusion of Harry Potter once again takes the top spot at the box office. In an EW Inside Studio article notes that the race to the top this time was closer than any since Deathly Hallows was released.
Over the three day weekend Deathly Hallows, according to estimates grossed $50.3 million. When you take into consideration the five day Thanksgiving weeked -- Wednesday and Thursday -- Deathly Hallows grossed $76.3 million. In the10 days this film has been out it has made $220.4 million. This is the tenth-best 10 day gross on record.
As good as these numbers are, Disney's Tangled grossed $49.1 million over the three day weekend. This is just $1.2 million less than Potter. Tangled also came close to Deathly Hallows five day weekend total, with just $7.3 million less, with a total of $69 million. In Third place was Megamind with $12.9 million, and Burlesque came in fourth place with $11.8 million ($17.2 million for a five day total).
Deathly Hallows had a slower five day Thanksgiving weekend than Goblet of Fire ($81.3 million). Keep checking back to The Remembrall to see of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 can maintain its dominance at the box office.
